What makes Selfuel’s pricing different than other platforms’ pricing?

We don’t believe in cryptic credit systems or feature-based tiers. Our approach is straightforward: you pay for actual compute (CPU, RAM) and storage. No complicated add-ons or locked features. This transparent model reflects our core mission: Unify, Simplify, and Democratize data operations for everyone.

What does “Four Core Modules” mean in Selfuel’s pricing?

Selfuel offers four main modules—Lakehouse, Integration, Streaming Data, and Orchestration. You can purchase just one, a few, or all four, depending on your needs. Each module is priced based on the compute resources (Runners) you allocate to it.

Do I have to buy all modules together, or can I pick and choose?

You can pick any module(s) you want. There’s no requirement to purchase them all at once, nor are you forced into bundles. This way, you only pay for the functionalities you actually use.

What are Runners, and why do I need them?

Runners are Selfuel’s fully automated compute instances. Each module (e.g., Lakehouse) operates on a Runner. If you want to enable a specific module, you need a corresponding Runner. This ensures transparent, usage-based pricing and easy scalability.

How do you measure my usage for pay-as-you-go billing?

We track CPU and RAM usage down to the minute, and storage in hourly increments. Your final charge each billing cycle reflects the total minutes of compute plus hours of storage used.

Do you offer on-premises deployment? If so, how is it priced?

Yes, we do. Our on-prem option is licensed yearly based on data ingress and storage limits. You still get the same four modules and the same Runner concept, but hosted in your own environment.

Will I lose any features if I choose on-prem or a lower-priced tier?

No. Selfuel has no feature gating—every user, whether on SaaS or on-prem, gets the same advanced functionality. Pricing is solely tied to compute and data usage, not features.

Does each module require its own Runner, or can one Runner handle multiple modules?

Each module has its own specialized Runner for optimal performance and clear cost allocation.

Are there any discounts for nonprofits, educational institutions, or startups?

We’re committed to making data solutions accessible. While we already offer a 20% discount for annual subscriptions, we also encourage startups, nonprofits and educational institutions to reach out for possible special pricing or program support.
